PROFILING THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL WITH PROFORM
March 3rd, 2019It is very easy to profile all races at the Cheltenham Festival using Proform or indeed to profile individual events.
Profiling All Races
Date Tab
This is really easy. Just open system builder and on the date tab choose just March in the months list.
Course Tab
Then in the course tab just select Cheltenham (NOTE: To de-select all course right click in the course list and choose select none from the pop-up menu)
You can then run the system and present by any angle you wish, but first I would save this as a baseline system to use for further research making sure you untick the welcome screen display option on the date tab so that you do not see every runner at Cheltenham as a qualifer when the festival is on.
Run all Reports
You could now run all of the reports in Proform using the run all buttons at the top of the system builder to analyse all the past Cheltenham Festivals stats.
Profiling Individual Races
To profile and create trends for an individual race at Cheltenham you use the standard setup above and then use race names and distances to narrow the data down to the correct race. Here are a couple of examples
Supreme Novice's Hurdle
Use the base setup above (March, Cheltenham) and then in the race tab add in Hurdle only and in the race name contains enter supreme novices
You can then run this system and see the past winners and losers of this one race and then use the report all buttons to present by everything so you can look at trends for this race.
Ultima Handicap Chase
Use the base setup above (March, Cheltenham).
This race has had many names in the past so we use distance to narrow dow the race at Cheltenham for this one. It has been run over 3m 1f and 3m 110yards so we enter >=5280 and <=5500 in the race distance box on race tab and choose Chase and Handicap.
We also need to remove the amateur races so we don't pick up the Kim Muir on the classifications tab like this.
You can then run this system and see the past winners and losers of this one race and then use the report all buttons to present by everything so you can look at trends for this race.
