Proform announce sponsorship of Mick Appleby Racing
July 5th, 2016Proform Racing Ltd are delighted to confirm an agreement to sponsor the Michael Appleby stable until the end of the next all-weather season.
An agreement was reached at the start of the Flat season and eagle-eyed racegoers and paddock watchers may have noticed runners from the yard have been carrying the Proform Racing logos on their paddock sheets and stable staff sporting new work wear for the past few months.
Proform Racing is an online formbook for horseracing professionals and supporters.
Formed in 2000 by Simon Walton, Proform provides horseracing statistics that are used by horse racing professionals and keen racing enthusiasts to help predict outcomes of future races.
Proform has just released a major upgrade which introduces new and innovative features which significantly enhance its industry leading software.
Proform’s director Simon Walton, who is a member of the Rod In Pickle Partnership that have had horses with Appleby for over 3 years, including six-time winner Supersta said
“Given Mick’s profile, we are extremely fortunate that our brand is associated with one of flat racings rising star’s amongst the training ranks”
Speaking of the deal with Proform to sponsor the yard, Mick said
“I’m very grateful to Simon for his backing of the yard and delighted to have a sponsor that fits with us so well.
Proform is all about trying to find an angle that others might not have spotted and helping people find winners which is exactly what I’m trying to do”.
As part of the agreement, several horses in the yard are now also sponsored by Proform, including stable star Danzeno who is all set to line up in Saturday’s Darley July Cup (Group 1).
The 5yo was a respectable 2 ¼ lengths fifth to champion sprinter Muhaarar in the race last year and Appleby is expecting a big run.
“He’s in great form and I expect him to run a big race. The form of his run in the Duke Of York held up well in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot and he ended up a bit far back from his wide draw at Salisbury last time but that was still a good run in a competitive Listed race”.
Conditions at Newmarket are currently described as Good, and the trainer believes that will be perfect for his charge.
“He goes on pretty much any ground but ideally we’d want it just on the fast side of good for him and we know he handles the track so conditions should be perfect”.
If you wish to learn more about his training philosophy and methods, “Trainer Magazine” are featuring Mick Appleby in this month’s magazine and in a recent webinar we demonstrated how you can profile the performance of Mick Appleby using Proform.
